Founded in 2020 by three long-time friends, Henderson Professional Engineers holds itself to a higher standard.
As a civil engineering firm, we make it our mission to provide excellent service, effective communication, integrity and extreme ownership in everything we do, and to fulfill the vision of each and every one of our clients. Our focus has always been to provide high quality products that help improve the community in which we live, work and play.
Jen Henderson, P.E., our firm President, was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. She is the youngest of two children, both of which are now Professional Engineers. With an outgoing personality and always with a smile, Jen will usually be the first person in the group to speak up and break the ice for everyone else. She is a proud wife and mother of two wonderful children. Jen loves to play slow pitch softball, is an avid runner, and can usually be found shepherding her children to and from the softball/baseball fields.
Jen graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX and was immediately drawn to the Capital Metro area. For the past 15 years, she has excelled in both government and private sides of the industry. Ultimately, Jen found a niche in land development. Her forte in Engineering are site designs that are small to medium, 0 to 300 acres in size. For Jen, it’s important to work efficiently as part of a team in the fulfillment of a client’s vision. She fosters an environment conducive to innovation, which inspires people at all levels. She also enjoys that everyone can see the impacts of her efforts on the community around her. If you ask Jen, she will tell you that engineering is not just a job, it’s a passion and an exciting career.
Jen loves that her profession allows her to work on projects throughout Texas and that she is part of a team that takes a project from an idea and makes it into something physical, grand and lasting.

Adam, the Director of Operations, is the oldest of three siblings and a natural born leader. His passion for drafting started in high school and later, in 1997 Adam was awarded his first drafting certificate from Texas State Technical College (TSTC) in Abilene, Texas. With technical schooling still fresh in his mind, Adam began the first steps in a promising career and a newfound passion in AutoCAD. His first job was for a surveying firm in Boerne, Texas in 1998. In 2001 Adam relocated to Dallas, Texas to attend the Art Institute to study graphic design and 3d modeling and animation. During that time, he met the love of his life, Tabitha and two years later welcomed their son, Trent, into the family. As Adam gained professional experience, his skills led him to the Austin area. Surrounded by like-minded experts, Adam quickly obtained respect among his peers. His contributions have helped develop the CAD user community in this region. Driven by passion for his craft, Adam has continued to hone his skills through his roles as a CAD Technician, a CAD Manager, and a Site Designer. Easily adapting to the ever-changing technology, his expertise is sought by Autodesk users, both national and international. Adam has attended and been a presenter/instructor during the Autodesk University events. Outside of work Adam enjoys camping, archery, gardening, programming/coding, gaming, and reading sci-fi novels. Adam is eager to start every new project with an eye for what makes it unique and how it can stand out for the client.
